The Team
These are the men and women who lead our church as Elders (Kirk Session). They pray through and make decisions as the legal trustees, and pray and look out for the spiritual health of the church.
Scott McRoberts
Minister
Scott’s job is to teach the Bible, and to equip the people of the church to know and show Jesus more and more fully. As Minister of Word and Sacrament, he also leads us in baptism and communion celebrations of faith in Jesus. As a Parish Minister, he is here to serve the community – meeting people, taking funerals and weddings. He has a particular call to serve local schools and help the church link with them. He loves good coffee, watching Scotland play rugby, and seeing people in his family (and church family) become all they can be.
Vivienne Hutchings
Elder and Early Years Worker
I’m Vivienne, and I enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories. I am keen to offer help, support and friendship to people of all ages. I have recently started as an Early Years Worker with the church. The focus of this role will be to support parents/carers and their pre-school children, both within our church and in the community.
In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, cycling and a good book.

Heather McRoberts
Early Years Worker
I’m Heather and I am part of the early years team. I get the privilege of connecting with young children and their families within the church and the community… and also get to play with toys, do craft and sing songs. I’m excited to see children nurtured, families supported and Jesus glorified. I’m a wife and mum of three and enjoy spending free time with friends and family. I love sunshine, beach walks, loch swims and cheese.
Murray McCheyne
Session Clerk
Murray loves living life on the edge – the edge of the more rural side of our parish that is! He’s been a follower of Jesus since his mid teens and one of his favourite verses in Colossians 3.23 sums up his attitude to most things: “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as though working for the Lord, not men.”

Marion Manson-Morley
Elder
I started with no church involvement, then at age 27, reading the Bible, I unexpectedly encountered the Living Lord Jesus, which has evolved into fulness of life that only He can give. Life experience has been ‘in at the deep end – sink or swim’. Raised four children in Mallaig, worked in respite care and studied remotely at HTC. Later, without training, unintentionally landed into managing hospitality businesses and a large team of staff. Now retired, Phew! But kept busy volunteering in Scottish Prison Fellowship, Highland Hospice and serving in Inverness St Columba Church in Eldership and Pastoral Care. No time for golf!
Vivien Stellman
Elder
In Vivien’s working life, she’s helping people become all they can be in their careers. In our church, Vivien draws alongside people to listen and pray, and offers a welcome and a listening ear that we all benefit from. She’s often found sticking around and sorting things out or noticing a need – jobs to do or people who need a chat – when the rest of us have disappeared.
Ken Morley
Elder
Born and raised within a Christian family, I have enjoyed fellowship, with growth in faith, all my life. My point of commitment to God, with Jesus as my saviour, was not dramatic, but began during adolescence and settled when I was a student. Having retired to Inverness in 2009 from a career in clinical medicine, I am now active in voluntary work. My desire is to represent Jesus in places where there is great need for the gospel message. I am keen to see St Columba Church thrive in its community outreach with the saving gospel of Jesus.
Marion and I were married in 2017, both being widowed in 2010. I love time with my family and enjoy, being active, also gardening.
