The Community

Our parish includes Dores and the surrounding area, as well as the Inverness areas of Slackbuie, Ness Castle, Ness-side, Holm and Lochardil.

People often move here at a time of change in their lives. Starting a job. Starting a family. Starting retirement. Times to reflect on life’s big questions.

Family

Many people living in our area are starting family life, or growing up through it. From support through the early years, to sharing life with children in primary and secondary school, we want to help bring support and fulness to family life.  Some of our members are trained in delivering parenting courses for various stages of family life.  Our minister is a chaplain to Holm Primary, Ness Castle Primary and Inverness Royal Academy and is regularly in school assemblies and groups.

Our Sunday worship gatherings include groups run by our children’s team, and we have many all age gatherings where children and adults share food, conversation and learning together.  Contact us to find out more about how our church supports families in our area.

Friendship

One of the great things about church life is the friendships that have formed here.  We gather to find out about how God seeks friendship with us – and along the way, people moving here have become friends with each other too.  Sharing food.  Sharing cycle rides.  Sharing loch swims.  Sharing an interest in art, music, walking or travel.  People who have come to join us on Sundays have found a warm welcome, and found friends to share life with over years to come.  For anyone just arriving in the area wondering who to connect with, our minister Scott is happy to say hello.  He can come visit you at home, or meet at a local coffee shop.  We’d love to meet you.

Connection

We hope these links to local organisations is helpful for you in connecting with people in our area.  We do not necessarily endorse the below websites or their content – we just want to be helpful in pointing people to where to find out more about their community.
