This weekend we launched our Resource Bank. This is a bank with a difference, a bank where the currency is time, skills and availability. Using the noticeboard available at our Sunday gatherings, you make “deposits” of the skills or time you can offer and make “withdrawals” by taking up other people’s offers and/or making your own requests known. No interest rates and no bank charges apply! You fill out your request or offer on a card, along with your name and number and let the sharing of resources commence! There’s no limt to the amount of time or resources you can offer or receive – but please where you can, give as much as you take and vice-versa.
It was fantastic yesterday to see it get off to such a great start with all ages contributing to the board and as it develops the contents will be determined by the people who use it, but here are some ideas of areas you can potentially offer/ask for:
- Company (cuppa & a chat!)
- Dog walking
- Computer help
- Admin tasks
- Grocery shopping/errands
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men shall know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John CH13:34-35
