Killing the Son – Genesis 22:1-19

Why would God tell a man to kill his only son? If that’s not your first question about Genesis 22:1-19, I really don’t know why not. Whichever way you cut it, this is an astounding and shocking passage in Abraham’s life. This is the last of the chapters in Genesis that we are going to look at together in our series, and it is not a comfortable one.

Christmas is coming. It fills our houses and horizons, and it fills up our senses. We smell and taste delicious food and drink; indulging those senses more than any other time of year.
