Gathering together to worship, pray, to learn from one another and to socialise and have fun is an integral part of the life of our church. We regularly meet on Sunday mornings at Drummond School for a time of worshipping God through His son Jesus and learning from the Bible. Our Sunday service starts at 10.30am with refreshments served both before and after you’re welcome to come early for coffee and stay later for more! On the last Sunday of the month tend to eat together either by having breakfast or staying a little later for lunch – whether it’s your first or 101st visit, everyone is always welcome to join in.
During our time on a Sunday morning, we sing together; often a mix of modern and contemporary worship songs along with some of the best-loved classic hymns. We pray together and we hear from the Bible – sermons based on the Word of God and relevant to 21st century life.
We have a vibrant children’s ministry with groups for babies through to teenagers. On a Sunday we usually join together for the first half hour or so and then our young folks are all welcome to join the groups appropriate to their age.
Once a month we stay together for an all age service. We adhere to the Safeguarding policy of the Church of Scotland in the recruitment of all our children’s workers and volunteers. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, interviews and PVG membership.
Many of us also meet midweek as part of a Life Group. Prayer is at the heart of St. Columba. We believe that God hears and answers prayer and we seek his direction as individuals and as a church. As well as praying together and for one another on a Sunday and in our Life Groups, we also meet once a month on a Wednesday evening for a whole-church prayer meeting. You are very welcome to email us or call if there is an issue that you would like us to pray about and we would be glad to pray over that situation
for you. Find out more about prayer at our God Hears page.
Whether it is a Burns Supper, a curry night, a trip to the cinema or a walk along Dores Beach – we often socialise together. Keep an eye on our calendar or latest news page to keep up to date with current happenings.
